Razer BladeThe Razer Blade, Razer’s entrance into the world of hardware systems, was announced last weekend. Not content to produce peripherals, Razer has created what they call the “World’s First True Gaming Laptop”. Measuring at 0.88 inches thick and less than 7 lbs, the Razer Blade is intended to be a light weight machine despite the 17 inch wide screen. And it may just be Apple’s lesson in high-end gaming for laptops. Read more

As a follow-up to my post about gaming today, I also just got in the mail yesterday Feral Interactive’s Black & White 2! Definitely looking forward to installing that game and trying it out. I suspect that more and more my extended desktop is going to get a workout. But geez, the recommended graphics are already slightly over my Macbook Pro’s system specs. So, now I’m gonna have to look into upgrading again soon. Do I look into another Macbook Pro, or ditch my beloved G5 and get a Mac Pro. Ah, decisions, decisions.

I also got a press release about Cake Mania 3 for the iPod…the classic iPod, no less…from Sandlot Games. I veered over to their website to check it out. I mean, if they’ve got it out for the classic iPod, then surely they’ve got a Mac version and I just didn’t hear about it. Nope, my ears didn’t deceive me. They have an iPhone version, and now an iPod version, but still no Mac. C’mon, Sandlot. What’s the deal?

I’ve posted Episode 69, in which Corey and I chat about DRM, the used games industry, and piracy rates. Oh, and benchmarks for the Macbook and Macbook Pro. Corey does a review for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, and I do a review of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Not World at War, as I called it once during the show…that’s what happens when you have the two versions available in the marketplace at once).

Oh, and I’m very sorry about the mess-up with Episode 68…that being that I accidentally swapped the URL for Episode 67 into the RSS feed item for Episode 68. That’s all been fixed now.

BTW, I’m playing around with a podcasting plugin. My eventual intention is to post all of my podcasts using WordPress hosted through MacRadio, but for now I’m running some tests. So I’m actually posting my podcast link to Episode 69 below, complete with player, to see how it looks.

Everyone’s been waiting to find out what Steve Jobs would announce this morning regarding laptops. Speculation ranged from a Mac tablet to a sub800 notebook, to even wilder thoughts. Reading the responses to the announcement, many people might have felt a bit disappointed by it. But for gamers, the announcement was great.
