We discovered this morning that our Twitter account has been hacked. It’s the nasty “something bad has been said about you” hack that we, honestly, hadn’t been aware of before this. Worse, the DM had come from a trusted source that might actually send us this kind of tweet. ‘Nuff said.

It doesn’t seem that the application that wanted to take control of the account was successful. The page that came said as much. Despite that, the scammers seemed to have gotten access anyway, as two tweets, one overnight and one this morning, were sent out with scam links. We’ve deleted them, but in case you do see them DO NOT CLICK ON THESE TWEETS OR THEIR LINKS!

If you do, follow the instructions below to secure your Twitter account and please help any others that may have also become infected. For obvious reasons, this is a very virulent infection that passes like wildfire through the Twitter social network.

FIX:
1. Change your account password.
2. Revoke access to any unknown applications, especially recent ones.
3. Make sure your new password gets updated everywhere that you use twitter.

Very sorry for the inconvenience.

iGame Radio will be stalking the hallways of Moscone West this year at Macworld|iWorld 2012 as we seek out new and interesting games and check in with our old favorites appearing at the show. We’ll also be hosting the 2nd Annual iGame Radio Gamers Meetup at the show as well.

We’ve already been checking out who is going to attend the show and who isn’t, and the shift over the years is pretty surprising. Years ago, Macworld was known for its gaming pavilion, at which most major Mac gaming publishers and developers would attend. Times have changed, and now what we are seeing is iOS game developers in small booths, showing off their latest creations. Since Apple’s decision to leave Macworld, the annual convention has been struggling to survive and find a new niche to cater to. What you find this year might be characterized as more like SXSW for the Mac elite.

Head Editor Omaha Sternberg will be there, grabbing interviews, posting about new games, and getting images to us for the site. She’ll also be hosting the Gamers’ Meetup that will be held on Thursday, January 26th, starting at 5:30pm. If you’ll be at Macworld you can join us in the 2nd Floor lobby of Moscone West.

There’s going to be tons to do at Macworld, so make sure to check out the 2012 Hess Memorial Macworld-iWorld Events List as well so you don’t miss out.

Pax PrimePAX Prime is starting in 0 minus 1 day, 17 hours, 51 minutes, and whoknowshowmanyseconds and counting. And that means iGame Radio will be there, covering your favorite Mac and iOS games here and to come!

We’ve already got a slew of meetings and interviews scheduled, so you can look forward to a bunch of great podcasts not just about specific games and hardware, but daily podcast summaries as well.

To give you some ideas of what is to come:

EVE Online: interviews with developers and why EVE is so hard to get into (OR is that a myth?)
Topware Interactive: updates about Two Worlds II, and the upcoming games Scivelation and Raven’s Cry (YUM!)
Runic Games: Torchlight 2…need we say more?
Red 5 Studios: Covering their game Firefall. (Gosh, I wonder why we’re meeting with them? ;)

And many more, both Mac and iOS.

Will you be at PAX Prime? If so, let us know so we can hook up. We’d love to know what your thoughts are on the Mac gaming scene in general and the PAX scene in particular. You can post a comment here, on our Facebook page, or email us to connect.

Head Editor Omaha Sternberg has left for a vacation in the balmy state of Florida. We’ll be back on 8/22 with more of the Mac and iOS gaming world when she’s back. In the meantime, she’ll do her best to relax and not work because that’s what you do during a vacation. Except for that one review that she’s finishing writing on her Macbook Pro. And the iPad games that she’ll be playing in the evening. And catching up on twitter responses. And….

Editor’s Note: Chief editor and Podcast guru Omaha Sternberg gives excuses for why there will be no Thursday podcast this week.

Have you ever had days where you wake up and you find that your eyes itch and burn so much that you rub them till they bleed? Or that your head is so full of snot that you are sure it will soon explode? Let’s add in a bit of sore and swollen throat that can’t swallow, shall we?

Okay, so maybe I exaggerate…but only a slight bit. Breathing is a bitch in the heart of allergy season, and I got it bad. So, no podcast today, cause it’s hard to talk and breath through your mouth at the same time. And clean the microphone every few moments you sneeze.

There should be a game where you torture and kill Allergic Rhinitis…

Have you ever wanted to write for a gaming site? Do you look to see if a game has been released for the Mac before you look at the description? Do you tap on the screen of your iPhone while gaming till your fingers bleed (ewww, hopefully not all over your screen!). Do you drool every time a new iPad game has been released? iGame Radio may have the gig for you!

We’re looking for a Writing Assistant to help increase the content on the website and expand the site’s social connections. This position will start as part-time, but may become full-time in the future.

iGame Radio is a video game blog and podcast based on Mac and iOS games. We post news/editorial articles and several weekly podcasts that include industry commentary, game reviews, and interviews with game industry figures.

This will be a great position to get into video game journalism and get your name out onto the internet in a location that is seen by thousands every week.

Requirements:

  • The ability to write quality articles about the Mac and iOS game industry and stories related to such.
  • Be able to work with social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, using it to expand the fan base.
  • Be able to keep to deadlines.
  • Can work remotely, keeping in contact via email, chat tools, and Skype (both audibly and visually).
  • Be able to work a variable schedule (though the majority of the schedule will be a standard one).

The position will start unpaid but it is intended to become a paying position over time. Contact us for more information.

The theme music for iGame Radio was originally composed by our dear friend Digital Droo, who has written many pieces for games across the years (such as Active Lancer, Neon Tango, and Warpgate, to name a few). But we’ve recently wondered whether it’s time to wave goodbye to that song and find a new one.

Corey Tamas, our regular co-host for the show, is also a musician, and he has offered to compose something new for us. We’re wondering what you think about it. Keep our beloved theme song? Should we take Corey up on his offer? Or should we ask Digital Droo to create something new? Maybe ask someone else that you recommend?

You can weigh in on this with an email or by clicking on the poll on the right sidebar of the website. Let us know what you think!

You all may have been wondering we’ve been quiet for the past week. But believe me, we don’t just disappear and abandon our fans for any reason at all. No siree!!

We were slaughtering Orcs in the underground fortress of the Wizard of Blazarbag while countless goblins melted at our roar…

Uh, actually we were screaming our way down Mount Rainier on a snowboard with nothing on but a Necklace of Icing…

Wait, no, we were mowing down Cyberoids in the nearby stellar asteroid system while our smoochie-pooh fed us chocolate candies…

Okay, so we were in bed all week moaning in pain and agony and waiting for it all to end. They say that there are only a few things in life as painful as labor. Having gone through both now, I can honestly say they were right.

Kidney Stones suck giant donkey wangers.

They should make a video game out of this suffering. After all, if someone can sell Angry Turds, they should be able to sell a game based on trying to get the damn stone through a convoluted passageway with a minimum of damage. Oh, wait…

Anyway, we are now back to normal thanks to modern medicine (yah, modern medicine) and will be entertaining you with great insight again.

Oh, and drink more fluids, folks.

The folks at MacGamer, among whom include iGame Radio co-host Corey Tamas, have announced a temporary hiatus whilst they “restructure” things a bit. The details are a bit shadowy, but Tamas promises that the hiatus is short-term and intended to introduce big changes.

We’re doing a little moving stuff around, a little restructuring, a little flim-flam. And we’re not just talking about a site makeover here; we’re talking about some big changes. Unfortunately, if I spill too many details right now… the man behind the curtain will beat me with a frozen garden hose. What I can tell you is that MacGamer – which has been a trusted voice in the Mac gaming scene since 1998 – is gonna be back shortly with a whole lot more to show off. Just watch.

We’ve tried to strong-arm Tamas into giving it up, but to no avail. So we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, iGame Radio wishes MacGamer good luck on the restructure.
