Finally! A game that doesn’t paint pirates as funny or playful, but ruthless and bloodthirsty…you know, the way they were meant to be! Raven’s Cry was initially revealed last year, but we’ve not heard much about it since that time. So this trailer from publisher TopWare Interactive should whet our appetites for a bit longer. That is, until we start storming TopWare’s offices…

Mark today down on your calendar, and mind it well. For on this day the Mac got one hell of an awesome game courtesy of the fine folks at Feral Interactive. As of April 26th, 2012 Deus Ex: Human Revolution is available for download directly from Feral’s Website or the Mac App Store. We recommend that you schedule some spare time before playing however…that download clocks in at a whopping 15GB.

According to Feral’s site, the Ultimate Edition contains The Missing Link DLC and the Tactical Enhancement and Explosive Mission expansion packs, which contain a new mission and extra weapons and items for Adam Jensen to use in-game. The game also contains a 44-minute “making-of” documentary, a 40-page book of design and concept art, motion comic, a soundtrack composed by Michael McCann, and three trailers.

Set in 2027, Deus Ex: Human Revolution immerses players in a world where amoral corporations market biomechanical modifications that blur the boundary between man and machine. The player controls former SWAT commander Adam Jensen who has been forced to undergo cybernetic augmentations after a terrorist attack on Sarif Industries, the biotech company where he works as security chief.

To find those responsible, the player must explore the full potential of Adam’s augmented body and develop it to suit their playing style. Every situation can be approached in countless different ways, either by focusing on one of the four pillars of gameplay – combat, stealth, hacking and social – or by deploying an artful combination of all four. As they progress, players will be able to “purchase” new augmentations or upgrade existing ones to manipulate Adam’s body into their perfect machine.

As usual, Feral has included a set of minimum and recommended system requirements. Note that there is no support for the Intel HD3000i which ships with many Mac models, so watch out there. Another strange thing: A gamepad is listed under the “recommended” requirements. This is one of the few times we have seen a Mac game actually recommend a gamepad. Very interesting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • OS: Mac OS X 10.7.3
  • Processor: 2GHz Intel
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Hard Disk: 17GB
  • Graphics: 256MB
  • Drive: DVD
  • Input: Multi-button Mouse

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS:

  • OS: Mac OS X 10.7.3
  • Processor: 2.4GHz Intel
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Hard Disk: 20GB
  • Graphics: 512MB
  • Input: Game Pad

The following graphics cards are not supported: ATI X1xxx series, ATI HD2xxx series, NVIDIA 9400, NVIDIA 7xxx series, NVIDIA 320M, Intel HD3000 and Intel GMA series.
