Paradise Beach for iPad is a tycoon-style click management game where you design, build, and manage some of the world’s leading beach resorts. The game includes “Where’s Waldo” style hidden object hunts, two game-play modes, and a plot declared interesting by the developer. The game is a freemium download, with in-app purchase of $4.99 to upgrade. Based on comments on iTunes, what you download is a lite version, and the $4.99 buys the full game.

Total Eclipse is a tabletop RPG system that has been formatted specifically to work on your iOS or other smart phones/tablet devices. Developed by Disrupted Gears and set to publish by ShrapnelGames, the system is meant to allow for regular level advancement in microsteps, as well as an attribute system that supposedly eliminates min-maxing and encourages actual role-playing. The first four books in the system will be formatted for any eReader, so not just those with smartphones or tablets can read them. And if enough interest is shown, print-on-demand will occur. The game system will be released before the end of 2011, and a call for beta testers has already gone out.

Alawar Entertainment has announced the release of Farm Frenzy 3 for all iOS devices. The third installment of the popular franchise debuted on the PC/Mac in 2007 with new character Scarlett who travels to Africa, South America, and other locations to help her friend unseat the greedy president of the Farmers Union by earning the trust of the community and winning the next election. The farming sim has players managing local farms, collecting produce and manufacturing goods, including breeding unusual and exotic animals. Alawar is promising add-ons that will take Scarlett to other locations and even time periods, it seems, such as Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age and Farm Frenzy 3: Madagascar. The game is going for $2.99 for the iPhone/iPod Touch version, and $4.99 for the iPad. Lite versions of both are also available to check the game out for free.

Not to be outdone, G5 Entertainment has also released the next installment of their popular burger sim, Stand O’Food 3, which, despite the number three, is actually the sequel to the original. Available on all iOS devices, Stand O’Food 3 follows Ronnie the Chef as he travels to Tinseltown and disrupts the plans of evil Mr. Torg. G5 has integrated to a small degree the stories of Stand O’Food and Supermarket Mania so that characters from each appear in the other’s game. So you’ll see Nikki and Mr. Clarence in here as well. The game is free for all platforms, but you must use in-app purchases to unlock the full game: $4.99 for the iPhone and $6.99 for the iPad.

Last but not least, Bulkypix, in conjunction with GlobZ and Revo Solutions, has released Globulos Mania for all iOS devices. You control Globulos, which are funny and colorful little creatures who live in your garden within the game, as they compete against each other in games combining elements of sports, arcade and strategy genres. Though the game has a single-player mode, the multiplayer mode is the big attractor, supporting WiFi, 3G, and even hot-seat switching. The game is universal for all devices, and is available for free, with an in-app purchase for a premium pack of $4.99.
