So, I really tried to have a podcast for December 18th ready, but it just ain’t gonna happen. Both kids home sick last Thursday, then Thursday night that damn windstorm hit, and I was without power.

When the power went out, I called my hubby at work and asked him to find out how much longer the power would be out. “Till Friday night,” he said. I thought, I’ll survive that. Then the forecast changed before the afternoon. Not till Monday, then later in the week. Arghhhhh! I can’t be without a computer that long, I thought. We scouted out on Saturday for a place with Internet…the local library was open and better yet free. But I was also recovering from my husband’s company’s holiday party the night before (beware of chocolate martinis)…they just went public this past week (ISLN). Kind of hard to want to destroy the Cult of Mithras when your stomach is rebelling at the same time.

Last night we heard a ca-thunk while we sat huddled around the fire in the rec room in a 50 degree house (rec room was pretty warm). Yea for Puget Sound Energy! We went running around the house turning on lights and computers to convince ourselves the electricity was actually flowing again. So now I get to play catch-up. And I don’t know when, or if, I’ll be posting that holiday podcast. :(
