Portal 2 PeTI Goes On A Date
We are MAJOR fans of the Portal 2 “Perpetual Testing Initiative”. We check the site regularly for new maps from our fav map-makers. So imagine our utter thrill when we learned that the PeTI had gone co-op! No, it doesn’t mean Valve had suddenly turned map-making into a game for two people (though, actually, that would be cool too)…
It does mean you can now design and publish co-op test chambers for the PeTI! AWESOME! This free update will allow community map makers who have already contributed over 170,000 single-player test chambers to up the ante with co-op maps that require two players working together to solve.
This update also introduces a “Quick Play” feature which allows you to quickly access the top-rated maps in various categories. We’ll be using that feature a lot…it’s been a downright pain in the butt to locate the top-rated maps we’ve wanted in different categories or by our favorite map-makers without having to click on a bunch of links first. You can also search for your preferred maps by clicking on the ones tagged a particular way. Co-op maps are tagged too, so that’s how you can find them, and there are already a bunch of maps ready to go.
To get you started playing these co-op maps, Valve has given every current owner of Portal 2 a Steam coupon for 75% off a copy of Portal 2. So, find a friend with Portal 2 on their wishlist and start giving!
