Sanctum Now Plays On Mac
Coffee Stain Studios has announced that they’ve brought their FPS/tower-defense game, Sanctum, to the Mac. Built on top of the UE3, this hybrid shooter takes a fresh look at the tower defense genre, merging first-person shooter gameplay mechanics into the game.
Gamers take on the role of Skye, an elite soldier sent out to protect her home town, Elysion One, from hordes of mysterious alien creatures. To successfully defend the land, players must construct and upgrade a labyrinth of defensive structures and towers. When the havoc starts and the wave of baddies is unleashed, gamers can jump right into the action with fully-upgradeable weapons to play a key role in the defense.
Sanctum includes four-player co-op support as well as a single-player mode. It also includes a number of extra maps downloadable as DLC content (most for a fee). Unfortunately, none of the DLC is currently available for the Mac, and there is no indication if and when they will be brought over.
In celebration of the Mac launch, Coffee Stain Studios has dropped the regular price to $8.99, a 10% discount. You can download Sanctum from the Steam Store, or check out the Coffee Stain Studios site.
