Battle Nations Comes to Mac

Z2Live has taken a step forward with their freemium title Battle Nations. The game that started out on iOS has been released for Mac and is now available on the Mac App Store as well. Now you can play against friends on both mobile and desktop environments.

In Battle Nations you take command of the elite Imperial Army as you expand and secure the empire. Gather resources and train your troops to build a thriving nation and attack the rebel forces for dominance of the land. The campaign mode is driven via the story through 130 missions. The combat is turn-based, but you can play against others in real-time synchronous PVP. You can also attack them when they aren’t online…you’ll just be playing against AI-controlled units.

The game is a freemium title, so you can download the game for nothing. But you may find that you want to put a few cents in here and there. In-app purchases will net you nanopods, a resource staple in the game universe. They have the ability to heal units in battle, train elite troops, and speed up both construction and production. Still, the popularity of the title points towards a balance in gameplay versus in-app payments. And that is always a good thing to hear in a freemium title.
