The intriguing and stretchy action game for iOS, Squids, received both a sequel and an award recently. Squids: Wild West was released for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad at the end of June, and the original game just received the Art Direction Award at the European Indie Game Days in Marseille, France.
Held over July 2-3, the European Indie Game Days Awards rewards the most original and innovative European games in terms of gameplay, technology and artistic direction. This is the first year of the event, and included speakers David Calvo of Ankama, Russ Morris of Unity, and Chris Priestman of the Indie Game Mag. Squids received the Art Direction Award, one of five categories in the competition.
This follows on the heels of the release of the sequel to this title, Squids: Wild West. This new title includes new locations with a Wild West theme (still located underwater), new characters to interact with, and new gameplay. Watching the trailer one can see a bit of the gameplay in action. But we only have one question to ask…what happened to Winnick??
You can pick up your copy of Squids: Wild West from the iTunes App Store for a mere $0.99.
