Humble Introversion Bundle adds more for the holidays

November 30, 2011 · Posted in Games

The Humble Introversion Bundle has now more goodies added in. With just seven more days to go, the bundle now includes a dungeon-crawler, prototypes, and source code.

The Humble Introversion Bundle features the four games Darwinia, Multiwinia, DEFCON, and Uplink from Indie developer Introversion…all available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. In Humble Bundle fashion, you pay what you want to get your bundle, and split the amount as you wish. You can put it all towards the bundle, or split it between the two charities, Child’s Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. You can even drop a tip into the jar for Wolfire Games, as running the Humble Indie Bundle site isn’t free.

And, if your purchase is above the average price for the Humble Introversion Bundle (which is $3.72 at the time of posting) you can also get the games Bit Blot’s Aquaria and Kloonigames’ Crayon Physics Deluxe. But now you also will receive Dungeons of Dredmor from Gaslamp Games. A new take on the “roguelike” genre, Dungeons of Dredmor features deep character customization, turn-based gameplay, and unrelenting difficulty that makes each victory sweeter than the last. Dredmor’s randomly generated levels and huge roster of items, skills, and abilities make for a vastly replayable dungeon-crawling experience.

But Introversion has also added in two bonus prototypes, Subversion City Generator, and the Voxel Tech demo. Subversion, a Windows-only project on hold, was to be Introversion’s fifth game. The Subversion city generator prototype demonstrates the impressive technical achievement of using procedural generation to create an complete city environment…down to the individual floors in buildings, for example…in great detail.

The Voxel Tech demo was inspired by Minecraft. Introversion developer Chris Delay began building a voxel engine, incorporated some procedural generation experiments, and toyed with physics. The results of his brewing are on display in this Windows-only voxel destruction prototype, which demonstrates the interesting interactions made possible by voxels.

The Humble Introversion Bundle has now sold over 156,000 bundles for more than half a million dollars. The Bundle has 6 days to go, so there is plenty of time to make your purchase, and consider a gift bundle in the process.
