Holidays start with Humble Introversion Bundle
The Humble Bundle folks have launched another bundle in time for the holidays. The Humble Introversion Bundle is stuffed with four games from British Indie dev Introversion for you to purchase at a price of your choosing, while benefiting two great charities.
The Humble Introversion Bundle features the four games Darwinia, Multiwinia, DEFCON, and Uplink…all available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The award-winning Darwinia combines arcade action and strategic gameplay inTron-like environments as players deploy and control combat programs to fight off a malicious virus corrupting the Darwinia network. Darwinia won the Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Technical Excellence, and Innovation in Visual Art awards at the 2006 Independent Games Festival and is a must-play, retro visual experience. Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest takes Darwinia multiplayer with six game modes, including capture the flag and “Rocket Riot”, which has players competing to be the first to leave the planet.
DEFCON emulates the experience of Cold War-era, global thermonuclear war on a “big board” map of the world. Inspired by the classic geek film WarGames, up to six players can compete as generals of various nations to eliminate the enemy’s population while minimizing their own losses. Players take on the role of a hacker for-hire in Uplink, breaking into computer systems and nabbing valuable, secret information. The game is puzzle-adventure, with textbook cyberpunk hacking…including cracking software, credits, and nasty megacorporations.
In Humble Indie Bundle fashion, you pay what you want to get your bundle, and split the amount as you wish. You can put it all towards the bundle, or split it between the two charities, Child’s Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. You can even drop a tip into the jar for Wolfire Games, as running the Humble Indie Bundle site isn’t free.
And, if your purchase is above the average price for the Humble Introversion Bundle (which is $3.42 at the time of posting) you can also get the games Aquaria and Crayon Physics Deluxe. Bit Blot’s Aquaria won the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2007 Independent Games Festival with beautiful art, seamless exploration, and a clever, mouse-gesture magic system. Players traverse a massive underwater world with 175 unique creatures and discover ancient secrets that reveal the truth about the protagonist, Naija.
Crayon Physics Deluxe is a physics-based puzzle game that won the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2008 Independent Games Festival. In Crayon Physics Deluxe, your doodles and drawings transform into objects you can use to push, pull, slide, shield, and catapult the ball towards the goal in more than 70 distinct levels.
The Humble Introversion Bundle has already 25,000 bundles for almost $86,000. The Bundle has 14 days to go, so there is plenty of time to make your purchase, and consider a gift bundle in the process.
