LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4Just six months after the PC release, the Mac world will see LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 on the Mac. Feral Interactive announced today the pending release date for the Mac version of the latest in the popular LEGO franchise as January 6th.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 takes players through the first four years of the Harry Potter books and films with the signature humor and building power of the LEGO series. You can play as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, or more than 170 other characters from the series, casting spells, attending lessons, mixing potions, flying on broomsticks, etc to earn rewards. In fact, spell casting and potion making is an integral part of the game, helping you to complete a level if performed correctly, or creating adverse affects if not (such as turning you into something unpleasant).

You can play the game in single-player or two-player co-op mode. LEGO Harry Potter includes settings such as Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, the village of Hogsmeade, and, of course, Hogswart. Some unique additions include the Leaky Cauldron, a central hub that works for purchasing unlockable extras and returning to previous levels.

Minimum system requirements include:

  • Mac OS X v10.6.4 or later
  • 1.8 GHz Intel Mac
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 128 MB or better graphics card (NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series are NOT supported)
  • DVD drive

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will retail in North America for US$39.95, £34.95 (inc. VAT) in the UK, and €39.95 (inc. VAT) throughout Europe. It’s available to pre-order now through Feral’s online store.
