His Majesty demands your presence on the iPhone!
If you’ve ever watched The Tudors on Showtime, then you know that intrigue and treachery abound. What better way to explore the depths of that treachery and intrigue than on an iPhone. After all that treachery and intrigue involving the iPhone 4G…
Okay, so that lame analogy was my way of introducing Slitherine’s new iPhone game, The Tudors, based on Season 1 of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning television series The Tudors, which tracks the life of King Henry VIII (the wide one) at the beginning of his 40-year reign. You can travel in the footsteps of Henry himself, discovering danger, intrigue, and treachery and face the fear of war with France. Or you can follow Anne Boleyn, who became the future Queen of England…until Henry decided that he wanted to bed someone else, that is, and took her head off. Prolific guy.
Anyway, you also get to meet over 20 characters from the series, including Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (the dude who wouldn’t annul Henry’s first marriage, so he got replaced) and Sir Thomas More (Henry had his head removed), as well as travel the Palace of Whitehall, the main residence of the King.
The Tudors is a point and touch adventure game, with decisions to make based on chats with characters all unfolding around the story of the early years of Henry VIII. There are also mini-games, including puzzles and hidden object games.
The graphics come straight from the television series. But seriously, is anyone going to believe that Jonathan Rhys Meyers can pull off a young King Henry VIII? Way too muscly.
The game is currently available in US and Canadian App Stores for $2.99.
