Feral Interactive announced Mini Ninjas for the Mac, set to release on June 11th. Departing from the typical sports and strategy line-up, Mini Ninjas is a light-hearted adventure game featuring young ninjas battling a magical army of animals that have been turned into evil samurai warriors.

Developed by IO Interactive and released for Windows in September 2009, the game features delightfully animated characters in a friendly environment made just for exploring with your kids. Though there is no co-op play, players are able to control all mini ninjas within the game.

“Mini Ninjas is such a beautifully imagined game that it makes you want to explore every nook and cranny of its world.” said Feral Interactive’s David Stephen.

Mini Ninjas was originally also released via Steam, and considering the recent release of Steam for the Mac, the question of whether Mini Ninja’s for Mac would be available there as well came up. However, the answer to that is no.

“The main reason for this is that Steam requires Mac publishers to give up control over the pricing of their titles,” said Brad Gibson, Feral Interactive Public Relation’s Manager. “Feral has plans to distribute our games through digital download via a variety of options later this year.” No details were given regarding the details of the other options mentioned.

The minimum system requirements include a 1.8 GHz Intel Mac, 1GB RAM, 128MB VRAM graphics card, 5GB of hard disk space, and Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later. Feral plans to release a demo and a preview trailer of the game on their mini site for the game in the coming weeks.

The game will retail in North America for US $39.95, £29.95 (inc VAT) in the UK and €39.95 (inc VAT) throughout Europe. You can currently pre-order it through Feral’s online store.
