Blizzard launches Matchmaking
With GameCrush having to temporarily close due to overwhelming demand, Blizzard has seen an opening it can’t resist. Introducing Matchmaking, the matching service for Battle.net users to find that perfect “someone to pwn noobs with”. The system is live today, and let’s you choose from your type (including psionic alien, orc warrior, or mmmrrrggglll!), what you are looking for (e.g. hot date, starship co-pilot, or master of ceremonies), and level ranges you are seeking (such as between 30 and 60, silver league and gold league, or the moon and New York).
Testimonials and a set of images on the sidebar of players currently playing show who you might be interested in. The embedded video, voiced by Greg Canessa, Battle.net Project Director, does a great job of detailing the service.
The list of matches I received were…well, the only way to describe it is awesome! Inspiring! Unforgettable! And I don’t even play WoW!
