Inotia 2 update includes new Ranger

Inotia 2 Ranger Inotia 2 is going to have a makeover soon. Com2uS has announced an update to the recently released iPhone sequel, and included in the update will be a new Ranger class, complete with new weapons and equipment customized for this class (but apparently male only…what, there are no female rangers??).

Also, more special items will be made available via the in-app purchase mode for the game. Inotia 2: Wanderer of Luone can be purchased through the iPhone App Store.

Two Worlds II reveals short vids

Topware Interactive has released several new screenshots and moveshots of their upcoming game Two Worlds II. The moveshots, short three second videos of game action, are quick action shots of characters in gameplay to give quick teasers to actual gameplay within the game. Two Worlds II is coming out for console, PC and Mac in spring of 2010.

Got access to a screen for the game, so thought I’d update this post with it. Enjoy.

Thor smashes his hammer on the iPhone

UPDATE: I also got a video of the game, complements of Freeverse. Check it out below!

UPDATE 2: Can’t get the video to work because THERE DOESN’T SEEM TO BE A WORKING EMBEDDABLE VIDEO PLAYER FOR WORDPRESS! I’m done trying to find one that does work. You can download the video and check it out for yourself. Sorry.

ThorFreeverse has announced the imminent appearance of Thor on the iPhone. By which we can hopefully assume it is a game, and not the god himself (make an offering to the gods above? There’s an app for that!).

Seriously, this side-scrolling platformer allows players to guide Thor as he battles it out against his enemies through the domains of air, ice, and earth (what, no fire??). His trusty hammer, Mjolnir, at his side, Thor must manage his way through traps and obstacles that will reduce his abilities to those of mortals. You can gather energy orbs and lightening bolts to power his hammer up. Run into problems? Locate hidden ravens scattered around the game to receive score bonuses and achievements.

You can purchase Thor for $3.99 on the App Store soon.

Star Trek: D-A-C available “soon” for the Mac

Star Trek: DACStar Trek: D-A-C is being ported to the Mac by Transgaming and should be available very soon on the GameTree Online site. The game is a fast-paced, top-down space shooter based on the most recent Star Trek film where up to twelve players can compete in intergalactic battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. The game is available for pre-order right now at a reduced price for the holidays of $8.99.

The game was originally brought to PC and Xbox 360 by Paramount in November, so getting it in December should be a reasonably good turnaround. Then again, it’s a pretty short game, so content-wise there may not be a huge amount to be porting. And the D-A-C? Deathmatch, Assault, Conquest.

Simplz: Zoo scheduled to launch in January

Still cleaning out my inbox…almost there. So, I should mention this tidbit from Reflexive. Simplz: Zoo, a combination simulation and puzzle game, is coming in January (the website actually says December, but the press release says January). Developed by the same team that created Airport Mania, players will be able to choose from nearly 50 different buildings and exhibits, and more than 90 different types of animals, as they build and manage their zoo. In addition, players can arrange paths, foliage, fountains, statues and, of course, the buildings and exhibits, as they wish.

Players must also defeat match-3 puzzle games to collect needed resources, such as food for the animals, resources for the buildings, money to purchase new exhibits, and research points that are used to investigate and unlock new habitats. Changes in zoo content will apparently impact the puzzle games, giving players more than 30 different power-ups to choose from.

The game features music from composer Isaac Shepard, simple but fun graphics, and a family-friendly environment. The game is scheduled to come out for both PC and Mac. Macs with 10.4 and higher can play the game.
