Unboxing the PopCap Cookies

Lot’s of people have been getting away with turning opening game and hardware boxes into content. And whereas I’m all for being creative and all, opening square pieces of cardboard just doesn’t do it for me. However, to get into the spirit of things, I thought I would drop my own unboxing ritual into the fray…and it all starts with PopCap Games and their soon to be announced new game! Read more…

Yes, indeedy, I have finally posted Episode 66. Cory and I cover the Apple laptop event and what it means to gamers, what happened at Blizzcon, and part 1 of a review of Spore, published by EA.

We’ll be putting out another episode in about a week from this coming Thursday, and I’ll be doing a second part of the review of Spore, along with other goodies…like, for example, we’ll hear more about what’s been happening at PopCap Games. :D

The Apple Laptop Event…Better Graphics For You!

(Thanks to Macworld.com‘s Live Update and Jason Snell for this info)

Everyone’s been waiting to find out what Steve Jobs would announce this morning regarding laptops. Speculation ranged from a Mac tablet to a sub800 notebook, to even wilder thoughts. Reading the responses to the announcement, many people might have felt a bit disappointed by it. But for gamers, the announcement was great.

Ask Blizzard??

Got a burning question you’ve been wanting to ask someone from Blizzard, but can’t attend BlizzCon? Well, you’ll get a chance to get your questions answered. Slashdot is hosting an “Ask Blizzard Employees About Things That Matter” event, in which all you have to do is post your question, and the Slashdot folks who are attending BlizzCon will ask them. They have a sit-down scheduled with Chris Sigaty, lead producer on StarCraft II; Jeffrey Kaplan (aka Tigole), game director for World of Warcraft; Leonard Boyarsky, lead world designer on Diablo III; and Paul Sams, Blizzard COO. Your questions regarding Diablo III art will go the way of the dead horse, so don’t bother. Otherwise, post away!

Episode 65 has posted

I welcome special guest co-host Corey Tamas to the show this week. Also, an interview with Mark Batten of Red Marble Games. Plus, an editorial of The Wrath of the Lich King.

Sorry I’m a little delayed in mentioning that Episode 65 had posted. We found that the podcast was so long, though, that we had to carve out the game reviews! I am in the process of finishing up a special Game Review Edition for those…that’ll be posted shortly. When it is, I’ll not just post about it, I’ll also tweet about it! Yup, I’ve got a twitter feed not just for me, Omaha, but also for iGame Radio now. So, go join up to get the latest info on when a podcast posts and when cool Mac game stuff happens. :D
