PAX, Day 3: Dragon Age: Origins and Bioware

Just got finished with a demo of Dragon Age: Origins and getting an interview with the folks from Bioware. OMG! I’d change my pants, but it’s a two hour round trip to do it, so the pants stay put. The game is sweet, people. The graphics and attention to graphical detail is heavenly. The story line looks cool…if a bit predictable at points (uh, can we say heavy-handed foreshadowing?). Bioware is using a custom built game engine called Eclipse. Unlike Neverwinter Nights, you can control the actions of your entire party. Maturity level of the game is higher, and may end up getting an M rating with the ESRB. But the fight scenes are sweet!!

No word yet on whether it will end up on the Mac, but considering that most all of Bioware’s other RPG games have ended up on the Mac, that they recently brought Jade Empire to the Mac, and that they have a very dedicated Mac community in-house..well, I’d say the probability is quite high myself. Which is very good, because I WILL PLAY THIS GAME!
