Why I love the Mac: Reason #4
This is an excerpt of a conversation between myself and one of the folks currently working on the redesign of the MacRadio site. Great people for the most part. But I am occasionally reminded of their one failing when events like these occur. Names changed to protect the guilty. ;)
Omaha: hi, Craig, I was wondering if we were still on for our meeting today?
Craig: Hi, Omaha, sorry, I was hit with a virus over the weekend, and I just now got up and running today to give you a call about it.
Omaha: Oh, I know how that goes. I got hit by a virus last week, only I didn’t know whether it was a cold or allergies…
Craig: No, I mean computer virus.
Omaha: [picture of Omaha with "deer in the headlights" look] Oh.
Craig: Yeah, I disabled my virus software for two hours on XP while I was installing an application, and it was enough time for a worm to hit my system, then a hacker got in through that and took complete control of my system….
Omaha: [picture of Omaha with look of horror like she just saw someone get hit by a car] Wow, um, I’m really sorry.
Craig: [continues to describe his computer woes]…and only an hour ago did I get access to your phone number to give you a call.
Omaha: [bites tongue to stop herself from saying "you should have gotten a Mac"]
Omaha and Craig talk a little more about rescheduling, then end the phone conversation.
Omaha gets down on the floor and hugs her beloved G5 tower, saying, “You are soooooo good to me.”
